10 students of private school in Deogarh test Covid +ve

Deogarh: As many as 10 students of a private school in Deogarh district tested positive for Covid-19 today. The students who tested positive for coronavirus have been kept in isolation, said sources at district administration.

The 10 students have been kept in isolation on premises of the private school and Covid protocols have been followed, the sources added.

If need arises, the Deogarh district administration might declare the area as a containment zone, the sources informed.

On December 18, samples of the private school’s students were collected for Covid test.

Earlier in the day, Director of the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, Ajay Parida informed two foreign returnees to Odisha have been tested positive for Omicron variant of Covid-19.

Both the Omicron infectees have travel history to Nigeria and Qatar respectively.

The Omicron cases tally across the country reached 200 so far, said the Health Ministry.
