NROs celebrate Raja festival in Netherlands

The 11th Convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela will be held on January 18 at its premises, an NIT press release said.

Chairman and Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Sudhir Basudev will be the Chief Guest and B Sudhir Chandra, Chairman, Board of Governors will preside over the function, the release from the institute said.

During the Convocation degrees will be awarded to the students of the 2013 batch.

512 degrees will be awarded to B.Tech students, 336 to M.Tech, 25 to MBA, 106 to M.Sc, 9 to MA, 18 to M.Tech (Research) and around 30 degrees to PhD, the release added.

Four gold medals will be given to the best B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and MSc graduates and one each for best all-rounder and best B.Tech Project. Institute silver medals will be given to the toppers of undergraduate and post-graduate pass outs. Distinguished Alumnus Award 2013 will also be given to four alumni for their outstanding achievements in management, technology, industries, and entrepreneurship, the release said.
