12-hour Keonjhar bandh begins

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Keonjhar, Mar 7:

The 12-hour dawn-to-dusk Keonjhar bandh call given by the Joint Action Committee began here this morning.

According to reports, all government offices, banks and trading establishments have remained closed. Besides, all transport and passenger vehicles have stayed off the road.

However, all educational institutions have been excluded from the ‘bandh’ in view of the ongoing annual examinations.

The bandh call was given to demand the setting up of a medical college in the district, a long-felt need that the state government had chosen to ignore.

The Congress has extended its support to the bandh call.
