12 killed as bus plunges into Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: At least 12 persons were reportedly killed after a bus they were travelling in plunged into Narmada river in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh today. 

Sources said the Maharashtra Roadways bus carrying around 60 passengers was heading towards Pune from Indore when the incident took place in Khalghat area.  While 12 persons reportedly died, 15 others were rescued. 

Rescue operation is underway to trace those, who are fear drowned following the mishap.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the incident and directed concerned officials to extend immediate assistance to the injured.
