12-yr-boy saves father from crocodile in Odisha

Nayagarh: A 12-year-old showed his chivalry by saving his father from crocodile in Odisha.

The incident took place at Hemantpatna village under Fategarh police limit in Nayagarh district this morning.

According to reports, Mayadhar Sahoo along with his son Purna Chandra had gone to the Mahanadi River for taking bath at around 9 am. He saw a wooden box floating on the water. A crocodile attacked him when he rushed to catch the box.

The dauntless son without thinking anything overpowered the crocodile and saved his father. He started shouting for help. Another youth identified as Tukuna Behera rushed the river hearing voice of the boy. Later, the villagers caught the crocodile and informed the forest department.

After getting information, the forest officials reached the village and made arrangement to shift the crocodile from there.
