1215 new COVID-19 cases detected in Odisha; Khordha reports all time high 312 cases

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crossed 28,000 mark after 1215 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours. The tally now stands at 28,107 informed the Government.

While 753 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 462  are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 28  districts- highest from Ganjam: 332 followed by Khordha : 312, Angul: 11,  Balasore: 29,  Bargarh: 10,  Bhadrak: 2,  Balangir: 21 , Boudh: 2,  Cuttack: 60,  Deogarh: 1,  Dhenkanal: 1,  Gajapati: 89,  Jagatsinghpur: 47,  Jajpur: 20,  Jharsuguda: 2,  Kalahandi: 8,  Kandhamal: 14,  Kendrapada: 14,  Keonjhar: 77,  Koraput: 73,  Malkangiri: 14,  Mayurbhanj: 22,  Nayagarh: 7,  Nuapada: 8,  Puri: 11,  Rayagada: 24,  Sonepur: 2 and  Sundargarh: 2

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 10,545. However, 17,373 patients have recovered in the state so far.

In the last 24 hours,  9,113 swab sample were tested. So far 47,6560 tests have been conducted in the state.
