15-year old school student held for allegedly raping a 6-year old girl

Baleswar, July 23:

A 15-year old school student was arrested in Simulia in Odisha’s Baleswar district for allegedly raping a six-year old girl, the police said today.

The teenager was arrested after he and his alleged victim were subjected to medical examination following a complaint by the mother of the six-year old daughter lodged a complaint with the police.

The mother is a school teacher, sources said.

Reports said the class-X student, who was known to the victim, assaulted her at a time when her parents were away.

The alleged rape took place at Begunia village under Simulia police station on Tuesday.

The Simulia police produced the accused boy before the Juvenile Justice Board of the district today as per law, sources said.

The accused has been sent to the Juvenile Home in Angul, sources added.
