167 more test COVID19 positive in Odisha; Here’re details

Bhubaneswar: As many as 167  fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total count mounted to 5470, said Health and Family Welfare Department today.

While 150 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, 17 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

The 167 new cases have been reported from 18 districts: Rayagada (5), Jajpur (5), Khordha (8), Nayagarh (2), Balasore (13), Jagatsinghpur (19), Cuttack (3), Dhenkanal (9), Bargarh (1), Ganjam (30), Gajapati (41), Puri (1), Sundargarh (4), Bolangir (1), Mayurbhanj (14), Koraput (1), Jharsuguda (3) and Kendrapada (7).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1583. While 3863 patients have recovered in the state so far, 14 succumbed to the virus.

In the last 24 hours, 3496 samples were tested whereas total 2,31,356 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
