17 migrant labourers rescued in Odisha’s Patnagarh

Patnagarh, Mar 10:

Police have rescued 17 migrant (dadan) labourers from a bus while they were going from Padmapur in Bolangir district of Odisha to Berhampur city today.

The labourers belong to Baghala Bandha village under Belpada block of Patnagarh subdivision in Bolangir District.

The cops have detained them in the police station and are questioning them to find out more information.

“17 labourers were going to Berhampur. Acting on a tip-off, our patrolling vehicles stopped them and found out that they belong to Belpada area and were going to Berhampur. We have detained them in the police station for further questioning and to identify the agent behind this,” said Rabindra Kumar Patra, IIC of Patnagarh police station.

It may be noted that on December 17, 51 migrant labourers rescued by the cops of this police station as we reported here
