179 fresh COVID-19 cases in Odisha; here’re district-wise details

Bhubaneswar: As many as 179 fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total count mounted to 4856, said Health and Family Welfare Department today.

While 150 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, 29 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department. Ganjam district reported highest 57 cases followed by Khordha and Keonjhar with 27 and 18 cases, respectively.

Of the total fresh cases, 161 have been reported from 15 districts: Khordha (27), Angul (6), Nabarangpur (1), Jagatsinghpur (4), Cuttack (15), Bargarh (2), Bhadrak (5), Jajpur (3), Malkangiri (2), Rayagada (5) Keonjhar (18) Deogarh (1), Ganjam (57), Kendrapada (5) and Mayurbhanj (10). Besides, 10 cases are personnel of NDRF and Odisha Fire Services, who were under quarantine after returning from Amphan during in West Bengal.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1543. While 3297 patients have recovered in the state so far, 11 succumbed to the virus.

In the last 24 hours, 3164 COVID-19 samples were tested whereas total 2,19, 774 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
