2-day national workshop on smart grid in city on Thursday

India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF), a non-profit voluntary consortium of public and private stakeholders with the prime objective of accelerating development of Smart Grid technologies in the Indian Power Sector, will organize a   National workshop on “SMART GRID” at Hotel Swosti Premium on Thursday to disseminate latest trends, best practices and facilitate sharing of knowledge in association with OPTCL & GRIDCO. Domain Experts from ISGF, Power Grid, CEA, IEEMA, and Industries will join the workshop as panellists/speakers.

The workshop would give an opportunity for knowledge up gradation in the field of smart grid to all the stakeholders, leading to economy and efficiency in power system operation in the State. The workshop assumes significance at a crucial juncture when Govt of Odisha intends to draw an ambitious plan to build its first ever Smart Grid city in the recently cyclone-battered Chhatrapur town.

Around 150 delegates from power utilities of the neighbouring States of Eastern Region viz., West Bengal, Bihar, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, besides Odisha are expected to participate in the workshop. A road map for implementing and prioritizing Smart Grid Initiatives in different states will be expected outcome at the end of the conference. It is perceived that proposed implementation of the smart grid initiatives in the power utilities shall pave way for better grid stability, efficient grids and operate their business economically.
