2 ganja traffickers escape police custody in Odisha

Malkangiri: Two persons allegedly involved in trafficking ganja reportedly escaped from Excise Department office in Odisha’s Malkangiri district today.

The accused, identified as Chintu Behera and Manuel Bhatra, were arrested from Jabagarh here yesterday after five quintals of ganja were seized from a coconut-laden pickup van.

The contraband was being carried in the vehicle from Chitrakonda in the district to Angul with coconuts kept over the marijuana.

The price of the seized ganja is estimated to be Rs 30 lakh.
