2 killed, over 15 injured in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Sonepur/Rairangpur: At least two persons lost their lives and over 15 others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Odisha’s Sonepur and Mayurbhanj districts today.

A collision between an SUV and bus near Arjunpur in Sonepur district late last night claimed lives of two brothers and injured the driver of the car critically.

The deceased were identified as Niranjan Sa and Ranjan Sa, hailing from Baghia village under Tarabha block in the district.

The injured car driver, identified as Netra Kumar, has been hospitalised.

In another road mishap, more than 16 persons were injured after the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle at Tankabila under Jashipur police limits in Mayurbhanj district this morning.

The victims have been admitted to Jashipur and Karanjia hospitals.

The ill-fated bus, bearing registration number OD-11C-998, was on the way to Baripada from Keonjhar.
