2 killed, over 7 injured as bus overturns in Odisha

In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and more than seven sustained injuries when a private bus carrying them overturned at Patraput in Jeypore of Odisha’s Koraput district early this morning.

According to reports, the mishap took place when a bus, bearing registration no OD O2-8866, was on its way to Malkangiri from Vishakhapatnam with over 45 passengers on-board.

The driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control over the wheels near Patraput following which it turned turtle killing a woman, identified as Sunita Mahanandia of Malkangiri, on the spot and injuring others.

The victims were rushed to Jeypore hospital where one more succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
