2 labourers killed, one critical as tractor overturns in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: In a tragic incident, two labourers died and another person sustained critical injuries after a tractor skidded off the road and overturned near Lathachen village under Belpada police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district today.

The deceased have been identified as Guru Nial and Gobardhan Bhoi of the village. The injured one is the driver of the tractor, identified as Narendra Kata.

According to reports, the mishap took place this morning when the three were heading towards Nathabudha river bed on the tractor for a sand consignment. The driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control over the wheels following which it turned turtle and plunge into a farmland.

While Guru and Gobardhan died on the spot after being crushed under the overturned tractor, Narendra was rushed to Kantabanji community health centre by locals in a critical condition and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital as his condition deteriorated.

On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
