2 women workers killed in Odisha village

Kalyansinghpur, June 22:

Two women labourers were killed today in Tayaput village in Sankarada gram panchayat under Kashipur block in Odisha’s Rayagada district, reports said.

According to local reports, the women workers were engaged in loading sand onto a tractor near a stream in Tayaput village. Suddenly, a huge mass of the loaded sand collapsed on them, burying and asphyxiating them under its weight.

They were dead by the time they were pulled out, reports added.

The local police have begun an inquiry into the tragedy.
