229 more test COVID-19 positive in Odisha; here’re district-wise details

Bhubaneswar:  As many as 229 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 7545, said the Health and Family Welfare Department  today.

Of the total fresh cases, 193 have been detected from quarantine  centres while remaining 36 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 19 districts: Angul (1), Balasore (24), Bargarh (1), Balangir (7), Boudh (3), Cuttack (12),  Deogarh (1), Gajapati (1), Ganjam  (95), Jagatsinghpur (1), Jajpur (22), Jharsuguda (10), Keonjhar (1), Khordha (21), Koraput (1), Mayurbhanj (2), Nayagarh (5), Puri (4), and Sundargarh (17).

In last 24 hours, 3994 samples were tested whereas total 2,74,672 tests have so far been conducted in the state.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 2157. However,  5353 patients have so far recovered from the disease while 27 succumbed to the virus.
