24-hr strike by private bus owners hits public transport in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Public transport in several parts of Bhadrak district has been disrupted as the district private bus owners’ association resorted to a 24-hour strike today protesting plying of several small vehicles without permit.

Due to the protest, plying of all buses that run on various routes in the district on daily basis, have been stopped leaving passengers in the lurch.The protest began at 6 AM.

The agitators alleged that vehicles like Tata Ace and Tata Magic are plying in several blocks and villages in the district hampering business of local bus owners.

“We have appraised the district administration as well as the Regional Transport officials about the issues umpteen times, but to no avail. At long last, we decided to stage a protest,” said an agitating member of the association.
