Former Odisha MLA robbed of Rs 2.55 lakh

Nabarangpur: In a daring daylight robbery, a former MLA of Odisha was reportedly robbed of Rs 2.55 lakh in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.

According to reports, some bike-borne miscreants made way with the cash when former Nabarangpur MLA Sadan Nayak was parking his car near a petrol pump here this afternoon.

The former lawmaker was returning with the cash from his petrol pump at Hirli, located on the outskirts of the district headquarters, while the two bike-borne men intercepted him. When he stopped his car, the men snatched away the bag and fled the spot before anyone could react.

Following this, Nayak lodged a complaint at Nabarangpur police station. The police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

However, no one was arrested till the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the incident has left the locals fuming over “poor” policing in the area.
