Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally of Odisha today breached 80,000-mark and stood at 81,479 after 2949 fresh cases were detected in the state in last 24 hours, informed the Government.
For the first time, Cuttack reported the highest number of 589 cases in a single day followed by Khordha (474), Jajpur (215) and Koraput (181).
Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1826 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1123 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 26,602. However, 54,405 patients have recovered in the state so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that total 60, 909 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 13,63,620 tests have been conducted in the state.
