The eleven children rescued included six girls – all aged under 14. They were found working in the PKPN Spinning mill during a surprise check carried out on Thursday by officials led by Anita Rosalin Mary, Inspector of Factories Tamil Nadu, officials said.

Officials said while three of the girls belonged to Odisha, the other children were from Bihar.
