3 killed, 20 injured in truck-bus collision in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: At least three passengers died and 20 others sustained injuries when a speeding truck collided with a bus on Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Biju Expressway here today.

The deceased persons are yet to be identified, police said.

According to sources, the incident took place when the bus was ferrying around 35 workers from a factory in Sambalpur to Jharsuguda in the evening. The coal-laden truck collided with the bus head on near an eatery (Nikhil Dhabba) on the expressway, leaving three passengers dead at the spot.

The injured have been rushed to Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital. The condition of at least 10 passengers is stated to be critical.
