3 killed as jeep hits tree in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Three persons were killed and one grievously hurt in a tragic road mishap at Banigocha in Odisha’s Nayagarh district late on Thursday night.

The accident occurred when the Bolero jeep in which they were travelling hit a tree on the roadside as the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Reports said all the victims hailed from Nuapatna area of Tigiria in Cuttack district and were returning from Boudh. While two of the deceased have been identified as Suleman Khan and Sukuru Jani, the identity of the other deceased and the injured person are yet to be identified.

While two persons were killed on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, reports added.

The injured who was admitted to the Nayagarh hospital was later shifted to Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar after his condition deteriorated, local sources said.

“Four persons who were returning to Tigiria from Boudh in a Bolero met with an accident after the vehicle hit a roadside tree. Three persons have been killed in the accident. We have registered a case at Banigocha police station in this regard,” Nayagarh SDPO Abhimanyu Nayak said.
