3 more trains bringing stranded migrants back to Odisha

Bhubaneswar:  After a special ‘Shramik’ train carrying migrant labourers from Odisha departed Kerala yesterday, three more  trains will leave Kerala and Gujarat bringing more number of stranded people back to the state today.

While two trains will come from Gujarat and arrive at Bhubaneswar railway station, the other one carrying stranded migrants from Kerala will arrive in Ganjam.

After their arrival, all returnees will be sent to different quarantine centres for 14 days.

“Total 13 trains are scheduled to run to different parts of India carrying stranded people, including labourers, students and tourists. All trains will run point to point only ( end to end ) as per the directives of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Except the three trains, other trains in the list will not have passengers coming to Odisha even if some of them may be passing through the jurisdiction of the State,” said official sources. 

Here’s the list of 13 trains scheduled today:

The train which left Ernakulam, Kerala yesterday is scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar tomorrow morning around 7 am. Meanwhile, the state Government has approached Secretary of MHA for permission of an additional stoppage of the train at Jagannathpur in Ganjam district for the convenience of logistics to take those passengers closer to Berhampur and other nearby areas to quarantine facilities.
