3 women hanging from tree in Odisha: Post-mortem reveals cause of death

Nabarangpur: Around a week after three women were found hanging from a tree in Umerkote area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, the post-mortem report today revealed the cause of the death.

As per the report, the trio died by strangulation, said police citing the report.

The report further revealed that the bodies didn’t bear external or internal injuries.

The family members of the three hadn’t allowed them to go to a village fair on the fateful day, for which they ended their lives, said Umerkote police.

On April 9, bodies of the three were found hanging from a tree at Tohra village under Umerkote block of Nabarangpur district.

They were identified as Hemalata Gouda (21) and two minor girls.
