3-year-old girl raped in Odisha; juvenile detained  

Bargarh: What more could describe the vulnerable situation of fair sex in the state after a 3-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed in Bargarh today while another young woman committed suicide earlier in the day after being raped in Bhadrak.

In the latest incident, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy at Padmapur area of Bargarh district.

As per a complaint lodged by the survivor’s father, the minor girl was raped by a 15-year old boy of a neighbour. Acting on the complaint, police have detained the juvenile for interrogation.

“A case has been registered in this connection. Both the accused and the survivor have been sent to hospital for a medical examination. The boy will be produced before juvenile court once the medical reports comes in,” said a police official of Padampur police station.

Earlier in the day, a young woman of ended her life after allegedly being raped by a youth on Thursday in Dhusuri police station area of  Bhadrak district today. The rape came to the fore after police recovered a suicide note from the woman’s room today.
