Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park witnessed the footfall of as many as 306 visitors on the first day of its reopening today, informed the zoo’s Deputy Director Bimal Prasanna Acharya.
While 275 visitors purchased tickets at the counter to visit the zoo located on the outskirts of Odisha Capital, 31 people booked tickets online for their visit.
Acharya added a total of 39 persons today visited the Botanical Garden situated inside the Nandankanan wildlife sanctuary.
It is worth to be mentioned that the Nandankanan Zoological Park and the Botanical Garden were closed since March 15, 2020 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to ensure safety of visitors and prevent spread of Covid-19 transmission, the zoo authorities made an elaborate arrangement. Visitors were allowed for entry into the zoo after undergoing body temperature scanning at entry gate.
Those who have cough, cold or fever symptoms were not allowed to enter the zoo.
