4 arrested for gangraping college girl in Odisha’s Ganjam

Bhanjanagar: The Belaguntha police today arrested four persons for allegedly gangraping a college girl student at a riverbed yesterday in Bhanjanagar area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The four have been sent for medical examination.

According to police sources, the victim, a +2 student of Belaguntha college, while returning home from college yesterday afternoon was forcibly taken by the four persons to a riverbed where they allegedly gangraped her.

“They asked my daughter to give them phone number of a woman of the village to which she refused following which they committed the act,” mother of the victim said.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl, police conducted raids at various places and arrested the accused.
