4 injured in group clash in Odisha’s Bajpur

Kakatpur, May 23:

At least four persons were injured in a group clash in Bajpur village under Kakatpur block in Odisha’s Puri district today.

Reports said two groups clashed over illegal liquor trade and land dispute in Bajpur village today. Four persons of neighbouring Kerendia village were injured when they were attacked by a bootlegger with a bhujali, reports added.

While palpable tension prevails in the area following the incident, the injured have been shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Locals demanding arrest of the accused staged a roadblock by setting old automobile tyres afire on the Kakatpur-Konark road. Traffic flow has been affected on the road following the blockade.

Nimapara DSP K K Jena has rushed to the spot with one platoon policemen. While police have detained two persons and is interrogating them in connection with the incident, it’s trying to persuade  the locals to vacate the road blockade.
