4 killed, 10 injured in truck-van collision in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: In a tragic incident, at least four persons were killed and ten others sustained injuries after a van in which they were travelling and a truck collided head-on on NH-55 near Katada under Jarpada police limits in Odisha’s Angul district late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Dharani Pradhan, Sibaram Sahu, Arun Sahu and Binaya Sahu, all hailing from Balisahi area in the district.

The mishap took place around 1 AM when the victims were returning home in a Tata Winger van after having picnic in Koraput. A head-on collision between the ill-fated vehicle and a vegetable-laden truck killed four of them and left ten others injured.

On being informed, police reached the spot, rescued the injured ones and admitted them to the Angul district headquarters hospital.

They were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
