44,500 Odisha students appear in OJEE

Bhubaneswar, May 10:

About 44,500 students appeared the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) which began at 78 centres in 19 towns and cities in the state this morning.

OJEEThe examination is conducted for admission in Pharmacy, Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic, Lateral Entry B.Tech, MBA, MCA, MCA Lateral Entry, M.Plan, M. Arch and M.Tech streams.

As informed by OJEE chairman Tusharkant Nath, the examinations which began at 9 AM, will have three sittings.

The first sitting will be from 9 AM to 11 AM, the second sitting from 12 PM to 1 PM and the third sitting from 2.30 PM to 4.30 PM.

While about 18,000 have applied for Lateral Entry Engineering, 7585 have applied for MBA, 3100 for MCA and MCA Lateral Entry, 11,500 for Pharmacy, Ayurveda and Homoeopathy and 3700 for M. Tech.

Nath said the students will get four marks for each correct questions. However, there would be no minus marking from this year, he added.

The results of the examinations would be announced in June first week while counselling for admission would be completed by July-end.
