49,000 Odisha students to appear JEE Main exams

Nearly 49,000 students from Odisha would appear in the JEE Main examinations on April 4 next year as the last date of application for the examinations ended on Thursday.

The examinations would be held for admission in Engineering and Architecture in IIT, NIT and other top government technical institutes in the country.

In Odisha, the examinations would be held at nine centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Angul, Sambalpur, Baleswar, Bhawanipatna, Brahmapur, Rourkela and Jeypore.

About 20,000 students from outside Odisha have applied for the examinations to pursue their higher education in the state, sources in the JEE said.

The examinations would be held in two sittings. The first sitting would be held from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM for Engineering subject while the second sitting would be held from 2 PM to 5 PM for the candidates who have applied for Architecture.

Candidates applying for Engineering will have to answer objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics while for the candidates applying for Architecture will have to answer objective type questions and Drawing aptitude test.

The online examinations would be held on April 10 and 11 for which the examination authorities would upload the admit cards in the JEE website (www.jeemain.nic.in ) on March 1.

The results of JEE Main Paper-1 would be announced on April 27 while 1.5 lakh students would be selected for the JEE Advance examinations.

The final results of the JEE Main examinations would be announced on July 27.

Students clearing the JEE Main examinations would appear the JEE Advance examinations for admission in the IITs for which they will have to register their names between May 2 and 7. The students can download their admit cards from the JEE website on May 9.

The results of JEE Advance examinations would be announced on June 18.
