Five persons were injured, three of them critically, as a truck rammed into a roadside eatery near the Station Square here on Sunday night, Manoj Kumar Rout, Inspector, Sahadevkhunta police station said.

Sources said the mishap occurred when a helper who was driving the truck lost control of the vehicle . He was reportedly drunk.

Five persons who were taking their night meal inside the roadside hotel were injured and rushed to the district hospital. The condition of three is stated to be serious.

The truck has been seized and the truck helper who was driving it, arrested. The owner of the truck has also been detained, Inspector Rour said.
