5 killed, 3 injured in truck-auto collision in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A deadly head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw on new Jagannath Sadak in Satyabadi area of Odisha’s Puri district last night claimed lives of at least five persons and left three others injured.

The deceased and victims have been identified as the residents of Andalsingha village under Kanasa block in the district.

According to reports, the mishap took place while they were returning home in an auto-rickshaw after attending a funeral at Swargadwara here.

The ill-fated three-wheeler collided head-on with a speeding truck killing four of them on the spot and injuring others. One of them succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

The condition of the injured ones is stated to be critical. The truck driver fled the spot soon after the accident.
