50 more vending units to come up in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Under its inclusive development strategy the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will set up 50 vending units near the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) campus wall. Laying of foundation stone of the project was performed here at 9 .30 AM today in presence of Mayor, BMC, Sulochana Das, MLA of the area Susanta Kumar Rout and Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kanhar. The construction will be made adjacent to the Sulabha Sauchalaya at CRPF gate. The area comes under ward no. 15 of South West Zone will accommodate needy vendors of the area.

The Mukhya Mantri Karma Tatpara Abhiyan (MUKTA) being a flagship programme of Govt. of Odisha is being scaled up in different forms. Each project is strategized as community driven initiative and the model vending zone planned under the programme will be constructed by the Shaktimayee Area Level Federation (ALF) as per the project mandate. This will enhance the women empowerment process in the smart city and skill level of Mission Shakti groups, said the Mayor BMC.

Total estimate of the project is Rs 60.68 lakh where construction for each 10x 8 feet of vending unit will cost Rs 83,700. Total construction will cover 22000 sq. feet of land to finish the uniform approved design.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Additional Commissioner BMC Binaya Kumar Dash, City Er. BMC Arun Kumar Nayak, Zonal dy. Commissioner of South West Zone , BMC Ravinarayan Jethi, Local Corporators like Pinki Swain, Manasirani Sundaray and Subhransu Pattanaik.
