50,000 students to appear JEE Mains exam in Odisha Saturday

About 50,000 students from Odisha would appear in the JEE Mains examinations scheduled to be held tomorrow.

examsInforming this to the media on Thursday, chairman of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Tusharkanta Nath said the OJEE would conduct the examinations at 76 centres in nine cities and towns of the state.

Of the 76 centres, 21 will be in Bhubaneswar, 5 in Angul, 10 each in Baleswar, Brahmapur and Cuttack, 8 in Sambalpur, 6 in Rourkela, 4 in Jepore and 2 in Bhawanipatna, he said.

The examinations would be held from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM.

The JEE Mains online examinations would be held on April 10 and 11 while the result of the JEE Mains Paper-1 would be announced onApril 27. While the students qualifying the JEE Mains examination would be eligible for admission in government and select private engineering colleges in the state, about 1.5 lakh students qualifying the JEE Mains examination would appear in the JEE Advance test on May 24 for which they have to register their name online on May 2 and download their admit cards on May 9.

The results of the JEE Advance test would be announced on June 18 after which the process for counselling for admission in IIT, NIT, IIIT and other central institutes would begin, Nath informed.

Stating that the OJEE had entrusted the conduct of examination to the district administration, he said OJEE would conduct its test as scheduled after the conclusion of JEE Mains examination.
