5G launched in Odisha: Jio, Airtel offer service in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today launched the 5G services in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.

The launching ceremony was held at Campus-2 Auditorium of SoA University, Kalinga Nagar here in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Telecom companies Jio and Airtel have made necessary arrangements to provide 5G network in the areas.

More than 500 base transceiver stations have been installed by Jio and Airtel for this purpose.

Jio has set up a 5G experience lab at the SoA university.

The 5G service will provide blazing fast internet and superior network to the users.

The statewide 5G network rollout is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

“Today, 4.5 crore Odias are getting the gift of 5G. Inauguration of 5G services is a breakthrough that will usher in infinite possibilities, help realise PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Purvodaya and pave the way for a new era for Odisha,” said Pradhan.

Vaishnaw also dedicated 100 4G towers in rural areas of Odisha on the occasion.
