6-year-old girl saves elder sister from crocodile in Odisha

A 6-year-old girl displayed her daringness by saving her elder sister from crocodile in Kendrapara district of Odisha.

According to report, the brave girl Mamata, daughter of Abhay Dalai of Baradia village under Rajnagar block in the district, had gone to a pond adjoining to their house along with sister Ashanti (7) at around 4 pm yesterday.

The 5-ft long wild crocodile suddenly attacked Ashanti while both sisters were taking bath. Displaying her great presence of mind, Mamata pulled her sister out from water and the crocodile slipped into the pond.

Ashanti sustained injuries on her right hand in the crocodile attack and she was rushed to a hospital.

Reaching the spot, the forest officer has provided financial aid to the kin of the injured.

Admiration and praise poured in for Mamata for showing courage in little age to save her elder sister.
