700 take part in Sambad zonal debate, song competitions

Nearly 700 participants took part in the Sambad zonal level debate and Saregama song competitions-2013 held on Sunday.

The competitions were held in eight zones: Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Angul, Baleswar, Sambalpur, Brahmapur, Rourkela and Jeypore.

College and university students participated in these two competitions.
The topic for the debate competition was ‘Sabhya Samajare Mrutyudandara Sthana Nahi’ (Capital punishment has no place in a civilized society).

In the Bhubaneswar zone, the competitions were held at the Idcol auditorium.

In the debate competition, more than 40 participants took part while over 60 participants took part in the song competition.

The successful participants were later awarded.

The awardees, who secured first, second and third position, would participate in the final round of the competitions on October 4 at Bhubaneswar.
