Three antique 700 year-old idols have been allegedly stolen from a temple in the main campus of the sacred Chandrasekhar Temple in Kapilash, Dhekhanal district in Odisha, today.
The three stone ancient idols are around 3-feet to 4-feet in height. They were stolen from near the entrance of the famous temple , they are the statues of Lord Ganesh, Goddess Durga and Goddess Bhairavi.
The robbery was found by the priest after he went to the temple in the morning for prayers and found the idols stolen.
Meanwhile, the temple administration has filed a complaint in this regard at Gandia police station.
In December last year, some miscreants had stolen ornaments from the idol of Goddess Parvati in the temple.
