8-hr bandh hits normal life in Odisha’s Athagarh

Athagarh: The local lawyers’ association is today observing an eight-hour bandh in Athagarh of Odisha’s Cuttack district protesting lodging of undertrial prisoners at Choudwar Circle Jail despite completion of repairing work of sub-jail here.

The body has demanded relocation of Athagarh sub-jail, which was shifted to Choudwar for repair work two years ago.

While shops and business establishments remained closed, vehicular movement came to a grinding halt due to the bandh call.
