A day of clashes: Over 40 injured in separate incidents in Odisha

Clashes and violence were reported across Odisha amid Holi celebrations today in which more than 40 persons were injured.

As many as 9 persons were injured at Bahanaga in Soro area of Balasore district in a group clash over playing of DJ music.

Another clash erupted in Dhenkanal district over passing of offensive comments which left seven persons injured. A car was damaged during the incident.

About 10 persons of Panchupalli, Kantipala and Panchugochia villages sustained injuries in a group clash in Anandpur area of Keonjhar district.

Similarly, a group clash at Ratanpur under Purunakatak police limits in Boudh district left five persons injured.

On the other hand, four persons were injured in a political violence at Janhei under Panikoili police limits in Jajpur district.

In a similar incident, seven persons sustained injuries during stone hurling, which was a fallout of political violence, at Amrutamanohi in Pattamundai area of Kendrapara district. A shop was set on fire during the incident.
