A year after marriage, 20-year-old woman commits suicide in Odisha

Berhampur: A 20-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide over family dispute at Patra Colony under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district last night.

However, police have detained her husband Sitaram Maharana and are interrogating him.

Sources one Kajal Maharana of Beruabadi village in the district had married to Sitaram on December 9 last year. However, she allegedly committed suicide over family dispute by hanging herself from the ceiling of the house yesterday.

Though her family members rushed her to hospital, she was declared dead by doctors.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident. The cops also sent the body to hospital for post-mortem.
