AABSyS IT hosts AABTonics – an international GIS competition

Bhubaneswar: AABSyS IT, an Odisha headquartered IT company which is a leading global exporter of GIS, CAD and software services, today announced the results of AABTonics – An International GIS Competition organized on the eve of The International GIS Day.

This is a unique and first of its kind corporate innovation and academia engagement initiative taken by AABSyS IT, for promotion of GIS technology and innovation, and to foster entrepreneurial spirit
among the students.

AABTonics received a wonderful response this year, with registration from 38 teams, representing more than 100 students across the globe.

The teams were assessed by an esteemed panel of judges, which consisted of highly experienced professional and industry stalwarts.

Team Professional Pirates from NIIT University, Neemrana bagged the first position and will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for their working prototype for crop classification using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based techniques. The Smart Transportation team from CEPT University, Ahmedabad secured the 2nd position and won a cash prize of Rs 30,000 for their research and application in leveraging GIS for Smart Transportation Solutions.

Team A Star from Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics, Pune won the 3rd position along with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for their innovative idea of a navigation application designed to help customers find nearest stores with ready product availability.
