Routes to avoid in Odisha capital during AAC closing ceremony

Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic and convenience for commuters in Odisha capital on July 9 (Sunday)– the day of closing ceremony of 22nd Asian Athletics Championships (AAC)– the Twin City Commissionerate police has decided to impose restriction on movement of vehicles on that day.

(i) Restriction from Jayadev Vihar crossing to Shastri Nagar crossing and vice-versa on Bidyut Marg.

From 6 PM till 11 PM, no vehicle will be allowed to ply on Bidyut Marg from Jayadev Vihar crossing to Shastri Nagar crossing and vice-versa. Vehicles coming from NALCO Square side will be diverted at Jayadev Vihar crossing towards Acharya Vihar. Similarly, vehicles coming from 120 Battalion crossing towards Jayadev Vihar crossing will be diverted at Shastri Nagar intersection towards Sachivalaya Marg.

(ii) Restriction on movement of vehicles on the road from Behera Sahi Chhak to NICCO Park Chhak.

Between 6 PM and 11 PM, restriction will be imposed on movement of vehicles from Behera Sahi Chhak to NICCO Park Chhak and vice-versa as this road will be used for parking of vehicles.

(iii) Restriction on movement of vehicles on the service lane by the side on NH-16 from Acharya Vihar to Jayadev Vihar.

From 6 PM till 11 PM, restriction will be imposed on vehicles coming from Acharya Vihar towards Jayadev Vihar on the service lane adjoining NH-16. The vehicle proceeding on this service lane will be diverted during the stipulated period to NH-16 through the passage leading to NH-16.

However, the regulations will not be applicable to vehicles with pass for entry through gate no 2 and 8 of Kalinga Stadium, the venue of the Asian Athletics Championships.
