Abandoned newborn girl rescued in Odisha

Kalahandi: An abandoned newborn girl was rescued by a woman at Maningpadar village under Bhawanipatna Sadar police limits here in the district today.

The woman found the baby on outskirts of the village in the morning.

The newborn is suspected to have been abandoned by her parents following birth.

Following rescue, the baby was admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Bhawanipatna for health check up.

The Bhawanipatna Sadar police initiated an investigation into the incident.
