Abhijit Iyer admitted to hospital in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:  Delhi-based journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra, who is currently lodged at the Jharpada jail here for his alleged anti-Odisha remarks, was admitted to Capital Hospital here today due to abdominal pain.

Iyer, who has been lodged in jail since October, was taken to the hospital amidst tight security.

Sources said Iyer was ailing for the last couple of days. Today, he complained of severe abdominal pain, following which he was rushed to the Capital Hospital.

It may be noted here that Mitra was arrested on October 23 for making derogatory remarks against the Sun Temple and the culture of the State through his Twitter account.
