Paralakhemundi: As the death mystery of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forests Saumya Ranjan Mohapatra continues to deepen, his wife Bidyabharati Panda, will be quizzed again in connection with the alleged murder case.
“The investigation into the case is underway and the deceased ACF’s wife will be grilled again,” informed Gajapati Superintendent of Police Tapan Kumar Patnaik.
Source said that a 5-member police team will visit a college in Balangir district, where Bidyabharati was pursuing higher studies, for probe. The team will investigate as to under what circumstances she had been to Balangir after her marriage.
During the probe, it came to fore that Bidyabharati had hosted a hen party in Balangir post her marriage. The investigators will find out in which vehicle she had visited the venue for celebration.
Meanwhile, Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera, one of the accused persons named in FIR, refuted his alleged relationship with Bidyabharati.
“The Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis indicated that DFO had no link with deceased ACF’s wife. He had never visited Bidyabharati’s residence,” Patnaik told media.
Yesterday, the Paralakhemundi police had interrogated Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera in connection with the alleged murder case.
Both the DFO and Bidyabharati are under scanner of the police after deceased ACF’s father Abhiram Mohapatra lodged a complaint alleging their involvement in killing his son.
Following death of ACF, the family had accused Bidyabharati of having extramarital affair with the DFO.
