Action against Odisha cop for misbehaving with shopkeeper

Bhadrak: Action has been taken against IIC of Puruna Bazar police station in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, Pragyan Mohanty for allegedly misbehaving with a shopkeeper in the area, last night.

She has been transferred to the District Police Headquarters. On the other hand, Ratikant Giri has been posted as the new IIC of Puruna Bazar police station.

Worth mentioning, tension ran high in Puruna Bazar area last night after Mohanty reportedly threw some clothes at a garment shop. The incident created a resentment among other shopkeepers and locals. Later, they staged a protest and gheraoed a police vehicle. To bring the situation under control, police resorted to lathicharge.
