Actor Kuna Tripathy appointed chairman of Odisha film Dev Corp

Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood actor and TV personality Satyabrata Tripathy, known as Kuna Tripathy has been appointed as the new Chairman of Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC), official sources said today.

Tripathy replaced Munna Khan, who was also an actor prior to joining politics.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made an announcement in this regard.

Tripathy, who is a household name in the State for his popular TV show and portraying various roles in a number of films, thanked Naveen and said his main focus will be on development of film industry and Kalinga Studio.

“It’s a big responsibility the State governmnet has assigned to me and I will definitely work hard to live upto the expectation of people,” said Tripathy.

He also informed that the State government has assured him to introduce cinema policy soon to uplift the Odia film industry.

The OFDC, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of Odisha, was established in 1976, to promote Odia film industry.
